    concerning the BCS Countdown show

All of this stupid discussion......its ridiculous!! I've pretty much decided....there is a monopoly in the college football rankings for the BCS. It is nonthing more than a media monopoly! Put it in the hands of the computers??? Put it in the hands of the voters??? For petes sakes....put it inthe hands of the people who should be determining their own fate!! Put it in the hands of the players!! If this was the choice of choosing a state champion in Indiana in 1952....we wouldn't have the Milan Miracle. Wed have some big city schools from Indianapolis or Bloomington or Fort Wayne playing for the championship all because Milan is a small school and they don't play anyone. If the NCAA was ran by the same method last year in the NCAA basketball tournament....we wouldn't have Butler playing in the championship. You've got teams like Wisconsin, Stanford among others playing great toward the end of the year....but because of the BCS. Plus one.:...there is no way to actually let the players produce a national champion themselves. They talk about TCU, Boise State among others not being in the "top tier" of football confreneces and that they don't belong. Well listen smartasses.....if they don't belong in the same realm as the all might BCS conferences....either drop those conferences down or do something to make them relevant. Because with the way everything is set up.....no matter if they go 13-0....its not gonna matter. Not as long as you have the dumbass BCS presidents, the voters, and the computers keeping them down in football limbo. This goes for the teams like Wisconsin, Arkansas, Stanford, Michigan State...... none of these teams get a shot at running the table ......it is a crying shame that NCAA football is the most disgraceful most disrespecrful organization that allows the BCS to govern its regulations and determine a champion than the NCAA itself. If it wasn't for a tournament in basketball, the NCAA would be a joke. I'm sick and tired of this crap.

Re: concerning the BCS Countdown show

And for a an organization that is constantly preaching sportsmanship, fair play and doing the right thing....it is really a shame when a team has to run up the scoreboard or else it isn't seen as "dominating" a football game. Or....they wonder why so many schools are having to break rules to get players..... well....ever think if they don't get the players they need to win....they don't get all that BCS money??? The BCS says the format works....but to me....this thing is so broken...they wouldn't know how to put it back together again if it was Humpty Dumpty. Wow.....this rant felt good!! Any one want to chime in????

There is just two things in life that a man can do. What he can do, and what he can't. You can't fix this because the right people don't think it is broken so just chill out.

Re: concerning the BCS Countdown show

    here are some facts:

TCU's best win against a big time conference school is non-bowl eligible Oregon State
their best win overall is 23th ranked Utah.

Dont try and say TCU deserves anything, they do not.

sorry for relying on a system that rewards teams that play tougher schedule over teams that play nobody.

If only they would do things the right way like the other college divisions and have a playoff. Then they could prove if they are worthy or not.

Re: concerning the BCS Countdown show

I support a playoff 100%, I wish we had a 24 team playoff. Let the top 8 teams have the first round off. No conference matchups til the Final Four, homefield stops after Sweet 16.

Because I believe the SEC would dominate; people would hate the playoff system IMO because you would get at least 2, maybe 3 SEC teams in the final four, even this year.

I think if Boise had to go to South Carolina, after playing a team like Miss. State before, would get beat.
I just think the SEC teams are built perfectly for a playoff; they play all these tough teams in close proximity so they would not be intimiated by playing great teams back to back.

Right now, a playoff would look something like this:

    1) Auburn
    2) Oregon
    3) TCU
    4) Stanford
    5) Wisconsin
    6) Ohio State
    7) Arkansas
    8) Michigan State
    9) Oklahoma
    10) LSU
    11) Boise St.
    12) Missouri
    13) Nebraska
    14) Oklahoma State
    15) Virginia Tech
    16) Alabama
    17) Nevada
    18) Texas A&M
    19) South Carolina
    20) Utah
    21) Florida State
    22) Mississippi State
    23) Arizona
    24) West Virginia

    24) West Va @ 9) Oklahoma (OU)
    23) Arizona @ 10) LSU (LSU)
    22) Miss. State @ 11) Boise State (Boise)*
    21) Florida State @ 12) Missouri (FSU)
    20) Utah @ 13) Nebraska (NEB)
    19) South Carolina @ 14) Oklahoma State (USC)
    18) Texas AnM @ 15) Virginia Tech (VT)
    17) Nevada @ 16) Alabama (Bama)
    (my hypothetical winner in parenthesis)
    so, now we get:

    21) Florida State @ 1) Auburn (AU)
    19) South Carolina @ 2) Oregon (Oregon) **
    16) Alabama @ 3) TCU (TCU) **
    15) VT @ 4) Stanford (Stanford)
    13) Nebraska @ 5) Wisconsin (Wisconsin)
    11) Boise St @ 6) Ohio State (OSU)
    10) LSU @ 8) Michigan State (LSU)
    9) Oklahoma @ 7) Arkansas (Arkansas)

and now, itd be on neutral sites:
    10) LSU vs. 2) Oregon (Oregon, I guess. again, I would pick LSU but yall would blast me)
    7) Ark vs. 3) TCU (Ark, and theres no doubt there IMO)
    6) Ohio State v. 1) Auburn (Auburn)
    5) Wisconsin v. 4) Stanford (Wisconsin)

so then its Arkansas vs. Oregon and Wisconsin vs. Auburn; all ill say is that I would have Auburn as the title winner, with three SEC teams in the elite 8, two in the final four, and a SEC winner.

*honestly, I really believe Miss. State beats Boise, but yall would just call me a homer. So for this, Ill put Boise as the winner
**Again, I really do believe Alabama beats a mediocre TCU team and USC could beat Oregon they have such a great DL and can score on Oregon, but again id be blasted as a homer. just to show how it goes, ill put TCU and Oregon
